Wearable Arts Fashion Show

This term for inquiry we have been working on showing people the dangers of plastic and making an outfit out of plastic. This is our final outcome, and our speech along with it (I was speaking :))
One million seabirds die from marine litter every year. That’s equivalent to more than the entire
population of San Francisco. Plastic is much worse than we all thought, and soon it will kill us too.

Sharp-edged plastic kills birds by punching holes in internal organs, and before you know it,
the sea birds disappear. Pulled under by the tide.

These animals are what keep our ecosystem stable and healthy, but with them all dying around us
and not being saved, who knows what will become of earth’s future?

Our outfit, pulled under, is showing that the plastic is dragging the bird down and it has taken over
its body. You can see that the wings have been broken and tattered because the plastic has beaten
it around and worked it down to be this weak animal.

We need to raise awareness about seabirds and sea creatures becoming extinct because before
we know it, seabirds will disappear in front of our very eyes.

Is this what you want to see?
